The Champions of Hyrule are one the most liked characteristics of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as their voiced dialogue and unique personalities made fans love them the instant they were introduced. Players liked them so much that they made—and are still making—funny comics and memes about them.

Now let's take a look at some memes of the champions while we wait for Breath of the Wild 2. Sure, it's still a long wait, but it doesn't hurt to wait while having fun looking at funny pictures.

10 He's Definitely A Bro

Daruk is always shown being a good friend to his fellow champions, so it's totally understandable that people think of him as the "gentle giant" of the group. But, contrary to his brute looks, Daruk is a very wise Goron, as he also offers advice and ideas to strengthen the bonds between the Champions. He also offers Link his "Daruk's Protection" ability, which protects Link from any attack as long as he has his shield raised.

9 Daruk n' Roll

Daruk's Protection is perhaps one of the most misused abilities in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but not because people don't know how to use it. The reason is that few people deactivate this ability when they're not fighting seriously, which results in it being wasted blocking meaningless attacks.

Nonetheless, Daruk's catchphrase is very pleasing to hear, especially when you're battling a Lynel, you're all out of potions and food, and that thing is charging at you with all of its might.

8 Urbosa Talking To Zelda Vs Urbosa Talking To Others

Urbosa is, in many ways, one of the best female characters that the Zelda franchise has had in a long time. She has a strong personality, but it also shows a lot of compassion and empathy towards Zelda, who was rather shy and unsure of her abilities.

Something that few Zelda fans know is that Urbosa used to be a good friend of Zelda's mother before she passed away, which is why she poses as a mother figure to Hyrule's favorite princess throughout the game.

7 Peak Performance

She might not like it at first, but Urbosa was a respected chieftain and warrior of her people, which can explain how she had a well-built physique with very defined abs. In fact, many Gerudo warriors like her are tall and very muscular due to the training they must go through.

Well-defined abs are a part of their culture, and they're so common among Gerudo warriors that even Link is questioned as to why he doesn't have them when he tries to sneak while cross-dressing as a woman.

6 Revali Prefers The Air

If you've played Nintendo games long enough, then you surely know of a cocky blue humanoid bird. Veteran Nintendo gamers sure were surprised when they had a first look at Revali, as he looked a lot like Falco from the Star Fox franchise.

But while they share a lot of similarities, Falco acknowledges Fox as a friend of his every now and then, which is something that Revali never does in the game. The closest thing to a compliment he says to Link is about how lucky he was, which made fans dislike him even more.

5 Not You, Revali

Despite how much hate Revali gets, his Revali's Gale ability is very useful as it helps players overcome heights and obstacles, which can assist people who haven't invested that much in stamina and aren't sure if they can climb a cliff.

In fact, players can even use it to travel over Hyrule quickly or to use it offensively by getting airborne and then sniping enemies in slow motion from a great height. Sure, Revali isn't exactly anyone's cup of tea, but at least he offers something that can be used outside of battles.

4 Best Healer Ever

Mipha is always pictured as being a renowned healer and friend of Link, qualities that made her accept her position as a Champion of Hyrule. She offers Link her healing powers at some point in the game, which he uses to heal himself when receiving fatal damage.

The fact that Mipha could offer her healing abilities to Link even in death makes her ability "Mipha's Grace" be more than a simple gameplay mechanic.

3 A Harsh Truth

Through in-game cinematics in Breath of the Wild, we get to know that Mipha and Link knew each other from a very young age. Mipha was already an adult when she first met Link, who was only four years old at that time.

Mipha also showed strong emotions towards Link, but, due to her shy personality, she never got to tell him her feelings, at least in-game. Zelda rarely shows affection to link, which is something that probably could change in the game's sequel.

2 Finally!

Well, this one might be a stretch as Link could jump in previous games using items and getting near borders, butBreath of the Wild lets players make Link jump at their command without the use of an item, which is something that pretty much every 3D action-adventure game has. Players rejoiced when they first knew of this, as Hyrule now felt more fun to explore as they had a new way of reaching new heights, literally.

1 Oh No

The Sheikah Slate is probably the most advanced piece of technology that Hyrule has seen. It has a GPS, map markers, camera with identification functions, and many other apps. It's kind of funny how players use it to take fun pictures while they're doing their challenge runs, which is something that could probably leave Zelda very confused.

Fun fact: when Breath of the Wild was still in the planning process, developers almost made the game about aliens invading Hyrule, which is probably why Breath of the Wild included a lot of advanced tech across Hyrule.
